In the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby, FKF Premier League defending champions Gor Mahia will play their bitter rivals AFC Leopards on Sunday, April 21, 2023, at Nyayo National Stadium.
Azam Sport 3HD, KBC Radio Taifa, Mayienga FM, Ingo FM, Minto FM, Ngemi FM, KBC English Service, and Pwani FM will all stream the game live beginning at 2:00 pm.
Additionally, FKF has forbade the recording of the game for both commercial and editorial purposes, promising to arrange for the provision of match highlights following the game and to hold post-match interviews in the press conference room rather than on the pitch.
The cost of tickets for the match is Ksh. 1000 for VIP seats and Ksh. 300 for regular seats. Sales of tickets will begin on the day of the match at Kenya Cinema, the Tom Mboya statue near the National Archives, City Stadium, Riadha House, and Nyayo Stadium, which is located across from the Police Post Gate. Please note that tickets cannot be purchased inside the stadium.
Accredited journalists will enter the stadium through VIP gate A, according to a press release from FKF sent to newsrooms. They will also need to sit at the designated media tribune, which is located below the VVIP stand.
Moving across the touchline while the game is in progress will not be permitted, FKF emphasised. "Photographers shall be required to don their media bibs at all times while at the pitch side and shall keep a 3-meter distance away from the by-line."
The Federation has also instructed Gor Mahia supporters to use Gate A for VIP access to the VIP stand, and Gates 2 and 3 for regular ticket holders.
Those with regular tickets should use Gates 8 and 10, while supporters of the AFC Leopards are instructed to enter the VIP stand through VIP Gate B.
It is recommended that fans who plan to watch the game arrive at the stadium early because gates will close at 2:30 p.m.
"The supporters must occupy their assigned areas; the left side is for AFC Leopards supporters, and the right side is for Gor Mahia supporters," the statement stated. The coaches of both clubs are expected to attend the post-match interviews, which FKF has also announced will take place in the press conference room and be open to all journalists. Journalists are expected to be at the press conference room promptly following the final whistle.
